Help Us Finish the Dream: Furnish and Landscape Our New Library
Your Giving Tuesday Gift Will Be Matched Dollar-for-Dollar Up to $10,000 – Let's Open Our Doors Fully Equipped and Beautifully Landscaped!
The Final Stretch: Help Us Bring Our New Library to Life!
Dear Friends,
By the time you read this, the framing of our new library will be visible from Leverett Road! Thanks to your unparalleled devotion and generosity, the dream of a new library building for Shutesbury is about to be realized.
Imagine walking into that beautiful new space next year. What catches your eye? The cozy seating in the reading nook? The oversized chairs and inviting rug in the children’s room? Perhaps the AV equipment in the community room or the convenient self-checkout station.
Now picture yourself stepping outside to find a few Adirondack chairs, where you can relax and enjoy the sight of birds and butterflies fluttering over a meadow of native grasses, surrounded by native plants, trees, and shrubs.
Idyllic, right? Here’s the catch: all these amenities—and more—are up to us to provide. While the grant covers a generous 75% of the building costs, “Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment” are our responsibility.
So, our work is not quite done. (Imagine walking into an empty building surrounded by a construction site!) We know we’ve asked a lot, and your response has been nothing short of heroic. But we’re reaching out once more to help us finish the job.
Our goal for Giving Tuesday, December 3, is $30,000 to furnish the building and landscape the grounds. And here’s some good news! A group of generous neighbors has already pledged a $10,000 matching gift. That means every donation, up to $10,000 on or before Giving Tuesday, will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
With your help, we can meet our goal! Thank you for staying the course. Together, we can be ready to open our doors next summer!
