Framing Is Up, Windows Are Going In—Now Let’s Add the Finishing Touches Together

Dear Friends,

By the time you read this, a drive past 66 Leverett Road will reveal our new library taking shape—framing is nearly complete, and window installation is beginning. This progress is thanks to you—your generosity, your belief in this project, and your unwavering support. Together, we are turning our dream into reality.

Now, close your eyes for a moment and picture yourself stepping inside this new space.
What draws you in?

The cozy reading nook, inviting you to settle in with a good book?

Or the colorful children’s area, designed to spark wonder and imagination?

Or the vibrant community room, ready for classes, performances, and gatherings?

Or maybe the peaceful meadow filled with native wildflowers, birds and butterflies?

This is the library we’ve worked towards for so long. Take a moment to let that sink in. Together, we are creating the new Shutesbury Public Library. Congratulations!

While state funding covers much of the construction, the finishing touches—the furniture, the landscaping, and the welcoming details—are up to us. Together, we can make it happen!

Wednesday, April 9th is Library Giving Day.
A generous group of supporters has pledged a $10,000 Matching Gift.
This means every dollar you give, up to $10,000, will be doubled!

In 2024, through numerous fundraisers, we raised an astounding $130,000. With your help, we can keep that momentum going and bring this library to life—just as we’ve imagined it.

Please consider making a gift today. Every donation, large or small, moves us closer to the library our community deserves. Donate online today at this link.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Because of you, we're building more than a library—we're creating a lasting legacy, a gathering place, and a home for learning and connection.

With deep gratitude,
